Jasmine Pearls, a green or white tea infused with jasmine scent via petals, was my favorite tea in high school. It was also the tea that ignited my desire to taste every type of tea available. That desire was first put into use discovering all the varieties of true tea—or tea grown from the plant—and is now expanding into herbal teas and other infusions. This blog will follow my interest in tea with tasting notes and reviews.
At the moment, my favorite tea is Japanese Schincha (first pickings of sencha and other Japanese teas) when available. After Schincha it is Gyokuro Tea (Japanese shade grown tea), and then pouchong, mao feng and pi lo chun.
Regardless of what my favorite tea is, certain moments or times of day call for different types of tea, including Lapsang Souchong, Pu-erh, Rooibos and other herbal teas.
I hope you enjoy the tea journey!
